The CEO Checklist: What Every Business Owner Should Review Weekly

CEO Checklist

Every business owner I know has weeks where they feel busy but not productive. You end Friday wondering what you actually accomplished. The fix? A simple weekly review.

Here’s the CEO checklist I use to keep my business moving forward:

1. Review Your Goals

Look at your big picture. What’s your focus for the month or quarter? Make sure your weekly priorities connect back to these larger goals.

2. Check Your Finances

Even if you’re not a “numbers person,” you need to know what’s happening with your money. Look at income, expenses, and outstanding invoices. This quick check keeps you from nasty surprises later.

3. Look at Your Pipeline

What new clients are coming in? Who needs a follow-up? Review leads, proposals, and upcoming work so you can plan ahead instead of scrambling.

4. Audit Your Calendar

Does your schedule reflect your priorities? Block time for important work, remove commitments that no longer serve you, and make sure you’re not running yourself into the ground.

5. Celebrate Wins

It’s easy to gloss over progress when you’re always chasing the next thing. Take a moment to note what went well: completed projects, happy clients, new opportunities.

A weekly CEO review doesn’t take long, but it keeps you in control of your business. It helps you lead your week with intention instead of letting the week lead you.

Accountability Tip: Add this to your calendar with a reminder for every Friday morning; put the checklist in the description. Send me a note on IG or via email if you want extra accountability – I do this every Friday, too!
